dslrBooth Alternative: Leave the Laptop at Home
dslrBooth is now sold as LumaBooth for Windows, and it is still the reference for DSLR based photo booths on a PC. For a 360 spinner it drags a laptop, a capture setup and a Windows licence per device into a job that a tablet does on its own. Snap360App is the tablet-first alternative.

The Real Cost of a Windows Booth
A dslrBooth setup means a Windows laptop that has to survive being moved every weekend, a per device licence, and a second bill for sharing and AI extras. It earns its keep on a classic DSLR booth where image quality is the product.
On a 360 platform the camera is usually a phone or a GoPro anyway, so the laptop is carrying no weight. Removing it removes a power brick, a table, a cable run and one more thing that can fail in front of a client.
- dslrBooth Professional for Windows starts around $59, and the subscription sits near $49.99 a month, or about $17 a month billed annually.
- It is licensed per device: two booths means two licences.
- Sharing and AI effects come from separate products and separate invoices.
Snap360App vs dslrBooth, Side by Side
Prices checked on their own pricing pages on 25 August 2026. Snap360App costs €24.99/month or €239.99/year (€19.99/month) on PLAN PRO, and €36.99/month or €359.99/year on DIAMOND PRO. Roughly $27 and $40 a month at current rates. Every figure for the sector, machines, media and rentals, is in the photo booth price index 2026.
When dslrBooth Is Still the Right Call
If you shoot with a Canon or Nikon body and you sell print quality, a DSLR on Windows is still the better tool and no tablet app replaces it. Many operators run both: dslrBooth on the print booth, a tablet app on the spinner.
What does not make sense is paying for a Windows workflow, and carrying it, on a machine whose entire output is a fifteen second vertical video for Instagram.
Switching Without Losing the Look
The two things that survive a switch are your branding and your sharing flow. Snap360App handles custom frames, intros and outros, music, AI generated frames, and instant delivery by QR, AirDrop, WhatsApp, Instagram or email, plus a web dashboard for the events. Recording works offline and events are unlimited on every plan.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I run a 360 booth without a laptop?
Yes. Snap360App runs the whole 360 workflow from an iPad, iPhone or Android tablet, including capture, slow motion, overlays and sharing.
Is dslrBooth the same as LumaBooth?
They are now the same brand. The vendor unified the Windows product, formerly dslrBooth, and the iPad product under the LumaBooth name.
Does Snap360App charge per device?
PLAN PRO covers one device. DIAMOND PRO covers multiple devices, at €36.99 a month or €359.99 a year.
What about print?
A 360 booth does not print. If you need prints at the same event you pair the spinner with a DNP printer on your photo booth, which is a separate setup.
Can I keep dslrBooth for my classic booth and use Snap360App for the spinner?
Yes, and plenty of operators run exactly that mix: the desktop app on the DSLR booth, Snap360App on the 360. They bill separately, so you only pay the spinner app when the spinner actually works.
